Meet Priscilla Rangel, our People and Business Operations manager, resident self-love guru, and everybody’s hypewoman.
As we rapidly grow across new states and cities (we’re hiring!), Priscilla’s role is crucial for us to stay aligned with our mission and values across our corporate team and store teams. We strive to create a culture of transparency and community between our people, our brands and our customers. Above all, Neighborhood Goods is a place for people to experience, connect, and be inspired.
In a time of growth, it’s important for us to remember who we are and why we started, and that’s where Priscilla comes in! She reminds us of our “why” and that everything in and outside of the office should be done with thought and intention.
Plus, she knows all the great jams and sends the best memes- so that’s a bonus.
Get to know Priscilla, her background and what “culture” means to her.

What does "culture" mean to you in the workplace?
In the workplace, culture simply describes the patterns, behaviors and perceptions that exist within a group. I’m constantly asking myself, “what is it like to work here?” and trying to encourage everyone to think about how they exist within our ecosystem because making Neighborhood Goods a great place to work is something we all share and get to build together. How we work is an extension of who we are as individuals and everyone has something unique that they bring to the table.
Self-care in the workplace tips?
Ideally we would have at least 4 office dogs, but practically speaking though I would say:
- Make time to check in with yourself throughout the day-- take an inventory of how your body is feeling so you can be mindful about when you might need to take a break, need to grab some water or just go sit in silence somewhere for 5 minutes.
- I’ll probably work on this forever but staying organized is the best way to set yourself up for success
- Emergency snacks
- Build genuine relationships at work so that you can feel comfortable asking for help, make your laugh or hype you up when you’re feeling less than great at work!
