Meet Your Neighbor: Devin Guevara

Our location in Plano will always be a special spot for us because it’s just up the highway from our office. It’s where we all had our “firsts”, as far as store things go. It’s a place where we will test all of our new ideas and learn and grow from what we’ve learned as a whole team. Today get to know our Team Lead, Devin. He’s been with us since the beginning and has become such a crucial part of our retail community.

Name: Devin Guevara

Position: Team Lead

Tell us about your role: As a Team Lead I wear many hats such as, ensuring the team is delivering an amazing experience for every customer as well as assisting our General Manager in daily FOH and BOH operations, making sure to foster a sense of community with both the team and our guests, and also keeping the team accountable. And from time to time make some amazing lattes.

What have you learned during your time at NG? Since I’ve started at NG, I have learned to truly invest both my time and efforts to grow my relationships with my co-workers and our guests/ I have learned that if you just take the time to care and listen, the impact that you can have on someone’s life and experience can be extremely meaningful.

Where are you from: Born in Arizona, Grew up in New Jersey and Now live in Plano TX

Favorite thing about your neighborhood: At Neighborhood Goods, it would have to be my neighbors or team, they made my days brighter and always find a way to make me laugh. As for where I live, it would have to be the fact that I’m surrounded by shops and restaurants and can walk everywhere.

Go-to Prim and Proper order: A light Salad, just kidding. Has to be the Double Goods Burger with Fries

Guilty pleasure: Tacos

What’s one thing about you that might surprise people? I used to be a chef and absolutely love to create new things when I cook.

Three adjectives that describe you and why? Ambitious: I’m always striving to grow and learn not only in my career but also as a person. Kind: I always have to remember to treat others the way I would want to be treated. Hopeful: I’m always hopeful in both my faith in God and hopeful that I will reach my goals one day.

How do you spend a Saturday? Work. My wife and I enjoy going to farmer’s markets, also going to get coffee at one of our many favorite coffee shops. Then spend the afternoon cooking or also hanging out with family and friends.
